The latest Murray Cod excitement from Rapid Release |

The Cod Almighty team are represented by none other than the icons of Murray Cod angling Rod MacKenzie and Gus Storer. Also making a large contribution is Mr. Bassman of Bassman Spinnerbaits, Glen Casey, Patrick “Patto” Martin, Lubin Pfieffer, Jason Peake and the debut of 9 year old Jock MacKenzie. Together this team gives the viewer an almost awesome if not unbelievable insight into the world of the big Murray Cod that can be found in the Murray-Darling Basin’s river system. Like in the first release, “Cod Almighty 2” imparts onto the viewer the importance of the survival of the Murray Cod and how best to handle them and get them back into the water quickly. For the uninitiated it will be a unique experience to see these large fish powering off while the angler is hanging on with gritted teeth waiting for the right time to land these monsters once they have been subdued. Rod and Glen touch a little on some of the gear that is required and explain a little on the different types of lures and knots they use which will help the many newcomers that will also watch this DVD. After watching the entire DVD I could not help but ponder how well “Cod Almighty 2” typifies Murray Cod lure angling. In some way all members do their bit to give the viewer a sense of what Murray Cod lure fishing is all about and to watch a bunch of mates enjoying each others company having a laugh and even a giggle at times all the while they are pulling in some very big Murray Cod is awesome. These fish would be a fish of a lifetime for many anglers and it gives the viewer a sense of adventure and understanding into a small part of the Murray Cods domain. All in all I think this DVD is just plain entertaining in my books and a must have on the DVD shelves of all Murray Cod anglers. You will be taken on a journey that will get every freshwater native lure angler pumping with excitement, it has tips, learning experiences and above all it has a good bit of humour thrown in too which for me is what a fishing DVD should be about. “Cod Almighty 2” is a production of Rapid Release and is available at many good tackle stores throughout The Murray-Darling Basin region. Grab
your favourite beverage, snaffle up a bag of munchies or a family
sized block of the chocolate, bang on the telly and flick on the DVD
and shout out to your partner, kids or best mates to hurry up and
join you. Then, get comfy in your favourite chair coz we are going
on a journey with a few blokes whose passion and friendship are all
channelled on to the same path, and that path leads us all quite
simply head-on into the world of chasing big Murray Cod on the
Murray River. Yes, we’ve been there before and quite frankly I’m
still not quite sure if it’s safe to get back in the water after
seeing monster Murray Cod after monster Murray Cod being caught and
then carefully released back in the river. In fact I’m still on a
high from the first time I watched “Cod Almighty” and now the well
known larrikins of the Murray River weir pools have come straight
back at us with the second instalment of heaven on a stick for us
Cod Fisho’s, with the DVD release of “Cod Almighty 2”.
